About Louis Trunzo, MD, FAAP

Dr. Louis Trunzo is a highly experienced board-certified pediatrician who has been caring for children and families for more than 30 years. His areas of expertise include preventive pediatrics, childhood nutrition, obesity management, behavioral health, and developmental care. In addition to Pediatrics, he is also board certified in Obesity Medicine and is committed to promoting long-term healthy lifestyles for children and families.

Since relocating to Arizona in 1990, Dr. Trunzo has served families throughout the Phoenix area and previously owned and managed North Valley Pediatrics for nearly three decades. He has longstanding affiliations with Phoenix Children’s Hospital and has dedicated much of his career to mentoring future healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioner students, physician assistant students, and family practice residents.

Dr. Trunzo has also held leadership roles as Pediatric Department Chair at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center and Abrazo Scottsdale. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and remains actively involved in professional organizations focused on advancing pediatric healthcare. Additionally, he has specialized training in developmental and autism screening, including certifications in M-CHAT, RITA-T, and STAT testing.

Outside of his medical career, Dr. Trunzo enjoys spending time with his wife, six children, and 11 grandchildren. He loves traveling, fitness activities, outdoor adventures, and caring for his pets and backyard chickens.
