Educating and assisting new families through the most life changing event of their lives is her true calling and passion.  Michaela strives to make sure women and their partners have the most up to date evidence based information to ensure they are making informed decisions.  A lot of Michaela’s work was inspired by her own challenging birth and postpartum experiences.  Helping families achieve their birth, postpartum and breastfeeding goals is her life's work.

Michaela is married and has three children born in 1992, 1999 and 2006.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching hockey and football, the outdoors, and playing with her four dogs. In addition to Southwest Lactation, Michaela teaches at two local hospitals.
